To rename a cluster

1. Open Cluster Administrator.
2. In the console tree, click the cluster you want to rename.
3. On the File menu, click Rename.
4. Type the new name for the cluster next to its icon.

• The cluster name cannot be the same as the computer name of a cluster node, and it cannot conflict with any other server, cluster, or domain name in use on your network.
• The new name does not take effect until the Cluster Name resource is taken offline and brought back online. The Cluster Name resource is found in the Cluster Group resource group in a newly created cluster.
• The cluster name can also be changed by displaying the properties of the Cluster Name resource, selecting the Parameters tab, then clicking on the Rename button.
